At The Copper Cottage Canines, our breeding program is built on three foundations: health, temperament, and working ability. We are dedicated to preserving the integrity of the Giant Schnauzer breed while continually improving upon it through thoughtful, selective pairings.
Health First
Every dog in our program is health tested through OFA and other breed-appropriate screenings to ensure sound structure and overall well-being. Only dogs that meet our strict health criteria are considered for breeding
Proven Temperament & Trainability.
We believe a Giant Schnauzer should be intelligent, loyal, confident, and stable. Our dogs are raised as part of our family and are socialized from an early age to build solid foundations for both family life and working environments.
Titles & Performance
Many of our breeding dogs are actively competing in IGP, obedience, protection, and other working venues. Titles prove not just ability, but also trainability and resilience — qualities we aim to pass on in every litter.
Raising Puppies the Right Way
Puppies are raised with early neurological stimulation, structured socialization, and foundational training. By the time they leave for their new homes, they are well-prepared to thrive as companions, competitors, or working partners.
What We Do
IGP Working
We are deeply committed to the sport of IGP, developing dogs through all three phases—tracking, obedience, and protection. Our training emphasizes full, calm grips, clear-headed controlled aggression, strong nerves and environmental stability, and precision under pressure. Our goal is not simply titles, but the creation of dogs capable of real work at a high level.
AKC Performance
While our foundation is in working ability, we maintain strict adherence to correct breed type. Our dogs are presented in AKC venues to ensure they meet the structural and visual standards of the Giant Schnauzer while remaining fully functional athletes.Form follows function—and we demand both.

About Us
The Copper Cottage Canines is owned by Brandon and Nicole Carter, dedicated and committed to the development of elite Giant Schnauzers through working ability, structure, and uncompromising temperament.
With a hands-on approach to training, handling, and breeding, Brandon and Nicole are deeply involved in every stage of their dogs’ development—from early puppy foundation to advanced IGP training and competition. Their program is built not only on knowledge and experience, but on a clear vision of what the Giant Schnauzer is meant to be: a powerful, stable, and highly capable working partner.
Their commitment extends beyond producing quality dogs—they are focused on preserving the integrity of the breed while building a program defined by consistency, performance, and long-term impact.
At The Copper Cottage Canines, we operate with a singular standard—excellence without compromise.
Our program is dedicated to the preservation and advancement of the Giant Schnauzer as a true working dog. Every decision we make is intentional, rooted in a deep understanding of genetics, structure, and the uncompromising temperament required for high-level performance.
We do not follow trends—we build bloodlines.
Our dogs represent a balance of power and precision: strong, stable, and clear-headed, with the drives and nerve required to excel in demanding environments while remaining reliable companions in the home.
Leading our program is Lucky Luk Radinie (“Luka”), a Czech-bred, German-titled male known for his exceptional working ability, proven production, and genetic clarity. Luka, current titles are BH-VT, IGP1, IGP2 and he was the 2025 Regional IGP2 Champion in Berlin, Germany. Luka embodies the standard we demand—intensity with control, power with clarity, and consistency under pressure. Luka is now training for his IGP3 and some other events for later 2026 and 2027.
Alongside him is Freddie Aihannmor, a powerful young male representing the next generation of our program. Born June 22, 2025, Freddie brings strong structure, presence, and developing working ability, reflecting the future direction of The Copper Cottage Canines. In his show debut, Freddie made a commanding impression, earning Best of Breed all three days at his first and only show to date, highlighting both his quality and ring presence at an early age.
Together, they define our vision: producing dogs that are not only capable—but exceptional.
