Brandon and Nicole Carter are the proud owners of The Copper Cottage Canines, a premier breeding and training establishment nestled in the heart of Alabama. Their shared passion for Miniature and Giant Schnauzers is evident in every aspect of their work, from thoughtful breeding practices to hands-on training and care.With an unwavering commitment to producing healthy, well-tempered, and structurally sound dogs, Brandon and Nicole have cultivated a lineage that exemplifies the very best of the Schnauzer breed. Among their cherished dogs is one of the most striking miniature studs ever seen, affectionately known as “Baby Cas” — Dreaming of Castyn A Chocolate Spell. With his captivating presence and outstanding temperament, Baby Cas has quickly become a standout in the breeding community, admired by dog enthusiasts and breeders alike.The Copper Cottage Canines was also home to two extraordinary Giant Schnauzers whose influence will forever shape the heart of the program — Great Dragon Fantom Chlumu and Zumba von der Schönburg.
Great Dragon, affectionately known as “Drak,” was a magnificent representation of the breed who earned the title of 2023 Czech Republic Junior National Champion, showcasing not only his impeccable conformation but also his spirit, power, and grace. His regal presence and steady temperament made him truly unforgettable, and his influence continues to shine through his offspring.
Zumba, lovingly known as “Z,” was a once-in-a-lifetime female — one of only three Giant Schnauzer females in the United States to achieve the IGP 3 title, and the only one with such a remarkable legacy as both a working competitor and a dam. Among her many accolades, she proudly earned the title of 2022 German National Tracking Champion, a testament to her incredible focus, intelligence, and determination. Her drive and devotion set her apart as one of the most accomplished females the breed has ever seen.Though both Drak and Zumba have since passed, they remain deeply loved and missed every single day. Their spirit lives on in every puppy, every pedigree, and every moment shared with the Schnauzers of The Copper Cottage. We are blessed to have two beautiful girls by Drak and out of Zumba, as well as one additional daughter by Drak, each carrying forward their remarkable legacy. We will do everything possible to ensure their pups continue to honor their name with the same strength, heart, and integrity that defined them both.As proud members of the American Kennel Club (AKC), Brandon and Nicole fully support the principles of ethical and responsible breeding. They encourage anyone considering adding a Schnauzer to their family to research thoroughly—understanding the breed’s unique needs, temperament, and energy level.
